Florencia Bay – Steeped with history
Only five minutes from Habitat Bed and Breakfast, Florencia Bay is one of the most spectacular beaches in the Pacific Rim Park Reserve. Florencia Bay is named after the ship that wrecked there in 1891. For this reason, the beach is known as Wreck Beach to locals. The beach has a ton of history and was even ground zero of a mini gold rush!

With some of the nicest sand in the area, Florencia is an amazing beach near Ucluelet, BC. Perfect for summer afternoon and evening picnics Florencia gets hours of sun as late as 9:30 PM in the summer.
Florencia Bay, BC – Great walks east or west
You can head down to the beach down the long wooden staircase and walk for miles to the south east, eventually joining up with the trail past Wia Point.
From the parking lot you can find the trailhead for the Nuu-Chah-Nulth Trail. The Nuu-Chah-Nulth Trail continues through a deep forest with several great interpretive signs. After a few kilometers, you reach a fork. Left goes down a short trail to beautiful South Beach. Right takes you to the Kwisitis Visitor Centre and the Kwisitis Feast House and then on to Wickaninnish Beach.
Florencia Bay, BC – Summer Surf
Popular with surfers, Florencia can provide great waves in the summer. With both a left and right breaking waves, Florencia is usually “twice as big as it looks” from the lookout at the top of the cliffs a short walk from the parking lot.
